Have you ever heard the tale about the scorpion and the frog?
This illustration is loosely based upon that tale. In case you haven’t heard of it, it goes something like this.
A scorpion wants to cross a river but cannot swim, so it asks a frog to carry it
across. The frog is hesitant at first, because he’s afraid that the scorpion might
sting him. But the scorpion argues, that if it did that, they would both drown.
So, the frog, trusting as he is, lets the scorpion climb onto it’s back. But midway
across the river, the scorpion stings the frog anyway, dooming them both.
It might not but the happiest of endings, but it did inspire me to incorporate
elements from this story, into this zodiac illustration.
