This print is part of the 10th Anniversary Orange Dot Project. $5 for each sale will be going towards a fund. At the beginning of 2024, the illustrator who sells the most with their print from this collection will receive the fund so they can use the fund to create their own online store!
"It doesn't scream party but it celebrates my journey as an artist and Draw A Dot's role in it.
The bruises you get when becoming an artist, with all the rejections, and always getting up again is part of that journey, here shown with Kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing things with gold.
It shows that those parts of the journey need to be acknowledged and maybe treasured.
Your contests have always supported my creativity, even in times when I thought I couldn't create anything.
And with all those images created I have built my portfolio, these illustrations are a lot of the seeds that I am ready to reap.
The big orange dot is the halo that I love to include in my works."
