Today my illustration will tell you the tale of a beautiful princess who was turned into a swan by evil magic. And of course, love saved her!
This story is found in the legends of the inhabitants of Europe, you may know the cartoon The Swan Princess plot based on it, or see the ballet Swan Lake.
I chose for my illustration a princess, which was described in fairy tale by the Russian poet of the 19th century Alexander Pushkin. In Russia, this tale is loved and known to everyone from childhood.

The evil and ugly sisters of the king did not like his beautiful wife and decided to get rid of her. They deceived the king by telling him saying that instead of a son, his wife gave birth a frog. Angry and upset, the king ordered his wife and little son to be drowned in the sea.
But they miraculously escaped and found a magical island. When the prince grew up, he met an extraordinary swan there. The swan lived among the foam of the sea. She spoke in a human voice and performed miracles that happened on the island. A huge palace suddenly appeared on the island, a whole army of heroes and fabulous animals. And the prince began to rule this island with his mother. When the spell dissipated, she turned into a beautiful princess.
The prince of course fell in love and married her
This is how the poet describes her

They say there is a princess,
That you can't take your eyes off.
During the day it shines brighter than the sun,
At night it illuminates the earth -
The moon shines under the hair
And in the forehead a star burns.
She is majestic and stately,
She walks like a swan

I hope you liked my story
